Boom in the Indian Automobile Market

In today's world owning a vehicle is not a privilege but an absolute necessity. There are different types of cars manufactured to cater to all sections of society. Even buying a car is much easier than it used to be a decade ago. With all banks offering various types of car loans and other financial aid it isn't that difficult to own your dream car. The only thing is one has to pay an additional amount of interest to the bank, this interest rate is determined on various aspects such as the credit history, amount of loan, time frame within which the loan would be paid of and of course any other terms and conditions pre decided by the bank. Keeping all this in mind it's no surprise to see the sudden surge in the number of cars and traffic on the street.

If you look at the Indian automobile industry it has grown by miles into what it is today. If you looked at it, say around a decade ago, it was a completely different scenario altogether. Back then, there were approximately five different models of cars to choose from. The Maruti 800 dominated the small car or hatchback segment as its known today. The sedan segment was ruled by the Hindustan Motors Contessa and then the Maruti Esteem. The other handful of cars available on sale was the Opel Astra, Daewoo Matiz and Cielo. Today however, things have drastically changed, for the good. The recent boom in the Indian automobile industry is very evident with large international car manufacturers setting up shop in India. Today all the big car companies have a strong presence in India. Right from American giants like Chevrolet to European king pins like Volkswagen and Skoda. All these companies have realized the potential the Indian industry has. The highest selling segment of cars in the Indian market is hatchbacks, as they make for the perfect city car. The horrid traffic situations we are faced with everyday while getting from point A to B are much easier to maneuver when driving a smaller car. And let's not forget about the car parking problems. At times it almost takes you the equivalent amount of time to reach your destination as it does to find parking.

The new hatchback cars that have been launched over the last six months are the Honda Brio, Hyundai Eon, Toyota Liva and even the Maruti Swift new model. This adds to the numerous existing hatchbacks available across the Indian market. With such a wide spectrum of cars to choose from, the biggest mystery would be judging which would be the best hatchback car in India. This massive change in the Indian automotive market illustrates the potential it has and that's why all the international car giants are battling it out with each other and Indian manufacturers like Maruti to gain supremacy in the Indian market.

Maruti Swift new model is without doubt the best hatchback car in India amongst the competing cars in its segment in Indian automobile industry.
